Hi! I’m Mike, a Senior Sound Designer currently working at Sumo Digital on an unannounced title, with over 7 years experience in game audio.

Previous to Sumo Digital I worked at 4J for 2 years working on multiple Minecraft DLC packs, providing and implementing the sound and music.
Prior to my job at 4J, I attended Abertay University where I attained a Professional Masters in Game Development and a 1st class Honours Degree in Sound and Music for games. During my studies, I also provided contract work for the local game studio Pocket Sized Hands.

Before learning about game design at Abertay, my background was in musical composition, though I’ve been an avid gamer for as long as I can remember. Being able to combine these aspects of my life into a career still has me pinching myself occasionally, and I can honestly say I love my job.

Main Skills: Sound Design, Music Composition, Interactive Music, Wwise, Reaper, UE5, Unity, Audio Driven Haptics

“I’ve worked with Mike for nearly five years and have consistently been impressed by his professionalism and approach. He is highly self-motivated, hard-working, and extremely easy to collaborate with. Mike thrives in team environments. He actively encourages feedback, welcomes new ideas, and contributes thoughtfully to discussions. He works well across disciplines and maintains a clear understanding of the broader picture. He is also generous with his time and supportive of more junior colleagues, helping to create a positive and constructive team culture. Beyond his skills, Mike is simply a great person to work with. I would work with him again without hesitation and sincerely hope our paths cross in the future.”
